Selection of External and Internal Shading for Greenhouses

      The external shading curtain cooling method utilizes the reflective properties of shading nets to prevent crops from being directly scorched by sunlight, offering a simple and effective solution. This method proves particularly effective when crops do not have extremely high temperature requirements. In practical applications, greenhouse users can select different types of shading curtains for cooling purposes. In China, these models are primarily categorized based on shading rates, ranging from 45% to 95%, providing various options for selection. Internal shading not only serves the purpose of spacing and shading but also helps reduce indoor heat loss during winter nights.

    Currently, shading nets are mainly used in summer, especially in southern regions where they are widely promoted. It is often said that in the north, winter is characterized by a white landscape (covered with plastic film), while in the south, summer is dominated by black (covered with shading nets). In the south, using shading nets for vegetable cultivation in summer has become a key technical measure for disaster prevention and protection. In the north, their application is still limited to summer vegetable seedling cultivation. During summer (June to August), the primary functions of shading nets are to protect against intense sunlight, heavy rainfall, high temperatures, and the spread of pests and diseases, particularly effectively preventing pest migration.
