Why use purified water as cleaning water in the electroplating industry? Based on our company's years of interaction with various electroplating enterprises, we deeply understand the following points: 1. Generally, the quality of groundwater and tap water is poor. The water used for cleaning in electroplating lines has a significant impact on the quality of electroplating. Different stages and processes of electroplating have varying requirements for water quality. In the pre-treatment stage of electroplating—the degreasing process—tap water, concentrated water produced by pure water equipment, recycled water from water reuse systems, or groundwater can be used. However, when the requirements for electroplated products are high, ordinary pure water does not meet the standards. Typically, groundwater has high hardness and contains high levels of calcium and magnesium ions. The treatment process for tap water is relatively simple, and due to factors such as corrosion in water pipes and scale buildup, tap water still contains many solid particles, minerals, calcium and magnesium ions, and even large amounts of algae and sludge, making its quality relatively poor. Therefore, neither groundwater nor tap water can be directly used for cleaning electroplated products. It is necessary to treat tap water or groundwater with ultrapure water equipment. Only ultrapure water, free of any impurities, calcium, and magnesium ions, can ensure the quality of electroplated products. 2. Impurities in water affect the performance and pass rate of electroplated products. In electroplating production, purified water must be used for rinsing after activation.
Daily maintenance precautions for the main unit of the water purifier: 1. Filter cartridge function introduction: Pre-security filtration, 5-micron melt-blown PP filter cartridge. Reverse osmosis equipment generally uses PP filter cartridges with a filtration accuracy of 5 microns, which can effectively remove larger solid impurities such as sediment, rust, colloids, and some microorganisms. Available specifications include 20-inch, 30-inch, and 40-inch, with the quantity depending on the equipment model. The second stage is the (RO) reverse osmosis membrane. The filtration pore size is (), requiring bacteria to shrink by 4000 times and viruses by 200 times to pass through, thus effectively removing bacteria, viruses, heavy metal ions, calcium and magnesium ions, and pesticide residues from the water (removal rate up to 99%). 2. Daily maintenance: To ensure that each level of the filter cartridge can fully perform its function and guarantee that the produced water quality meets standards, RO water purifier users should pay attention to regularly replacing the filter cartridges to ensure the purified water quality is up to standard. The replacement cycle for filter cartridges should be determined based on the quality of the water source and the amount and type of impurities it contains, or based on water quality monitoring with a conductivity meter, produced water flow meter, and the user's practical experience. Original ultrapure water equipment conditions, such as electroplating surface treatment, cleaning products on coating production lines, and cleaning glass and LCD screen products, all require the use of ultrapure water to ensure no stains are left on the surface.
