Main Functions of Purified Water Equipment

Multi-media Filters

Multi-media filter tanks are typically filled with filter media such as quartz sand, anthracite, and manganese sand. Their primary function is to reduce water turbidity and remove a significant amount of bacteria, organic matter, and other impurities from the water, thereby creating favorable conditions for subsequent disinfection processes. Manganese sand is effective in removing iron and manganese.

Activated Carbon Filter Tanks

Activated carbon possesses a large number of micropores and an enormous specific surface area, granting it strong physical adsorption capabilities. It is highly effective at adsorbing impurities in water, particularly organic matter and microorganisms. The oxygen-containing catalytic oxidation and chemical adsorption functions formed on the surface of activated carbon can remove some metal ions from the water. Activated carbon also adsorbs residual chlorine present in the water, protecting downstream stainless steel equipment and pipeline surfaces, and meeting the inlet water requirements of subsequent water treatment units.

Automatic Backwash and Regeneration Softening Tanks

Softening tanks are filled with sodium-type cation exchange resins. Through ion exchange reactions with the resin, they reduce water hardness, preventing calcium and magnesium ions from combining with carbonate and sulfate ions to form scale in subsequent water treatment equipment or pipelines.

Precision Filters

Precision filters, also known as保安 filters, typically have a filtration accuracy of 5μm. Their role is to trap all substances with particle sizes larger than 5μm to meet the inlet water requirements of reverse osmosis systems.
