Applications (1) Polyurethane field: Polyurethane elastomers are widely used in synthetic rubber, elastic fibers, synthetic leather, and other areas. 1,6-Hexanediol can be applied in polyester resins to modify polyurethane elastomers. The modified resin exhibits excellent mechanical strength, water resistance, heat resistance, and oxidation resistance. (Polyurethane chain extender) (2) Polyester field: Since the unsaturated polyester carbon chain of 1,6-Hexanediol is more hydrolysis-resistant than those of short-chain alcohols and has better flexibility, it can improve the alkali resistance of the resin and enhance its adhesion to glass fibers. In saturated polyesters, the polyester made from 1,6-Hexanediol and 4,4-dicarboxy-diphenyl sulfone offers high tensile strength, high elasticity, excellent solvent resistance, and swelling resistance, making it particularly suitable for photographic film bases. The polyester of 1,6-Hexanediol and terephthalic acid is suitable for polyester fiber treatment. 1,6-Hexanediol can also be considered for use in polycarbonates; the polycarbonate obtained by reacting it with dimethyl carbonate can be made into fibers and films. (Synthetic resin polyol) (3) Synthetic resin additive: Plasticizers using 1,6-Hexanediol exhibit superior volatility resistance, spray blooming resistance, migration resistance, and low-temperature resistance compared to low molecular weight plasticizers, making them widely applicable in plastics, rubber, epoxy resins, and other materials. (4) Synthesis of Disperse Red 91 (FRL, REL), polyester for synthetic coatings (CAN COATING), and synthesis of UV-curable diluent-HDDA.
