Working Principle of Duan Environmental Protection QXB Submersible Centrifugal Aerator:
Aeration by centrifugal aerators is a technique to intensely mix air and water, aiming to dissolve oxygen in water or to remove gases and volatile substances into the air. In other words, it is a method to promote the exchange of substances between gas and liquid.
It has important functions of mixing and oxygenation. The conversion of oxygen from air to water through aeration and the mass transfer operation from gas phase to liquid phase, along with the dispersion mass transfer principle, are more commonly explained by the Lewis and Whitman two-film theory.
The two-film theory posits that there are gas and liquid films at the gas-water interface. The air and liquid films, as well as the liquid film itself, are in turbulent flow conditions; between the gas and liquid films, it is laminar flow without convection, and under certain conditions, pressure and concentration gradients can occur. If the oxygen concentration in the liquid film is lower than that in the water, oxygen from the air will continue to disperse through the liquid film into the water body. Clearly, a direct way to overcome the liquid film barrier is to alter the "gas-liquid" interface.
Aeration mixing works this way, with specific methods including: reducing bubble size, increasing the number of bubbles, enhancing liquid turbulence levels, increasing the depth of aeration equipment, and extending the contact time between bubbles and liquid. Aeration equipment is a commonly used treatment method in sewage treatment.

Uses of Centrifugal Aerator The QXB centrifugal submersible aerator is used in aeration tanks and aeration grit chambers of sewage treatment plants for oxygenating and mixing sewage mixtures, as well as for biochemical treatment of sewage or oxygenation in aquaculture ponds.
How to Select a Submersible Centrifugal Aerator:
It is recommended to consider factors such as liquid delivery volume, head, liquid properties, pipeline layout, and operating conditions.
1. Flow rate is one of the important performance data for selecting a centrifugal aerator, directly related to the production and delivery capacity of the entire system. If the design process can calculate the normal, minimum, and maximum flow rates for the centrifugal aerator. When selecting a centrifugal aerator, base the selection on the flow rate, taking into account the normal flow rate. If there is no maximum flow rate, usually 1.1 times the normal flow rate can be taken as the maximum flow rate.
2. Head is another important performance data for selecting a centrifugal aerator. Generally, select based on the head with an additional 5%—10% margin.
3. Liquid properties, including the name of the liquid medium, physical properties, chemical properties, and other characteristics. Physical properties include temperature °C, density d, viscosity u, diameter of solid particles in the medium, and gas content, etc., which relate to the system head, calculation of effective NPSH, and selection of the appropriate pump type. Chemical properties mainly refer to the chemical corrosiveness and toxicity of the liquid medium, which are important bases for selecting pump materials and the type of shaft seal.
4. Pipeline layout conditions refer to data such as liquid delivery height, delivery distance, delivery direction, the lowest liquid level on the suction side, discharge side liquid level, as well as pipeline specifications and length, materials, pipe fitting specifications, quantity, etc., to calculate system head and check NPSH.
5. Operating conditions include many aspects, such as the operating T of the liquid, saturated vapor pressure P, suction side pressure PS, discharge side container pressure PZ, altitude, ambient temperature, whether operation is intermittent or continuous, and whether the pump position is fixed or movable.
Before leaving the factory, Duan Environmental Protection QXB centrifugal submersible aerators undergo several underwater tests to ensure reliable use of the product. To ensure the service life of the submersible centrifugal aerator, regular inspection and maintenance are recommended.
Cleaning
1. To prevent the accumulation of impurities inside the submersible aerator at different times, clean water can be pumped through the aerator for cleaning. If the submersible aerator is not used for a long time, it should be stored in a dry place and protected from freezing.
2. Oil filling and changing: The oil chamber of the submersible aerator is filled with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil before leaving the factory. This oil should be replaced annually. Oil change should be carried out as follows: position the submersible aerator so that the oil plug faces downward, loosen the plug, drain the lubricating oil, then clean the oil chamber with cleaning oil, refill with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil, replace with a new O-ring, and tighten the plug. If water is found in the oil, flush the oil chamber as specified, refill with oil, and tighten the plug with the O-ring. Recheck after three weeks; if the oil becomes emulsified again, inspect the mechanical seals. Replace if necessary (please contact our company's maintenance department). Note: The oil is transformer oil.
3. Operational faults In case of operational faults, if the cause cannot be determined and the troubleshooting methods provided later do not resolve the issue, do not use temporary fixes or attempt unauthorized repairs or disassembly.
