5. Solubility: Easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Decomposes upon heating or in hot water. Aqueous solution exhibits acidic reaction.

Main Uses

1. Used as an analytical reagent, bacterial inhibitor, for ceramic and glass engraving, beryllium metal smelting, and manufacturing welding rods. 2. Used as a glass etching agent in frosted glass production, disinfectant and preservative in the fermentation industry, and surface treatment agent for silicon steel plates. Also used in the manufacture of ceramics, magnesium alloys, cleaning and descaling of boiler feedwater systems and steam generation systems, and acidification treatment in oilfield sand plants. 3. Can be used as a chemical reagent, glass etching agent (often used in combination with hydrofluoric acid), disinfectant and preservative in the fermentation industry, solvent for producing metallic beryllium from beryllium oxide, and surface treatment agent for silicon steel plates. Also used in the manufacture of ceramics, magnesium alloys, cleaning and descaling of boiler feedwater systems and steam generation systems, and acidification treatment of oilfield sand and stone. Also used as a component of alkylation and isomerization catalysts.

Safety Information

Toxic if swallowed. Causes burns. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear appropriate gloves. If an accident occurs or you feel unwell, seek medical attention immediately (if possible, show the label).

If accidentally in contact with skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water, then immerse the affected area in 70% ice ethanol or cold magnesium sulfate solution for 30 minutes, and then apply magnesium oxide glycerin ointment. Pay special attention to the skin under the nails; if not cleaned and treated promptly, it can cause severe pain.
