Power line icing environmental simulation laboratory

Introduction:

Simulates various complex meteorological environments such as temperature, wind speed, freezing rain, rain showers, fog, solar radiation, and air pressure. Conducts scientific research on the impact of environmental climate on high-voltage equipment, and performs experiments and studies on the characteristics of different composite insulators under various conditions and icing scenarios.

Main Applications:

Environmental simulation testing for power system insulation terminals, power lines, power equipment, etc. Transmission lines are exposed to natural environments and subjected to various meteorological conditions, which can have instantaneous or cumulative effects on the safe operation of the lines. For example, the extensive freezing disaster in southern China in 2008 caused severe damage to the power grid. The artificial environmental research laboratory for transmission lines is used to study the effects of environments such as icing, rain, and condensation on transmission lines and equipment. Its establishment is of great significance for improving the design and construction methods of transmission lines in China, enhancing their resistance to harsh environments, and ensuring the security of the power supply.

Simulation of the following natural conditions can be conducted:

(1) Simulation of natural wind during icing;

(2) Simulation of rainfall with various conductivity levels and normal-temperature natural rainfall;

(3) Simulation of supercooled water droplets during icing;

(4) Simulation of clean fog;

(5) Simulation of air humidity for condensation on test samples at different temperatures;

(6) Simulation of high-altitude climate.
