LMS is a complete and cost-effective electroacoustic analysis system that provides high-quality data for practical electroacoustic engineering applications. LMS offers a wide range of computer-based features specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of speaker development and QC testing. Whether your application is professional audio systems, home audio systems, car audio, or contracted audio engineering, LMS is an ideal tool for development and testing. To date, no other measurement tool offers so many outstanding features and functions at such a low price.
LMS is a swept-sine analyzer for PC computers, consisting of a full-length ISA/PC interface card, connector interface cable, Windows application software, and a calibrated M31 microphone. It can be used for QC testing of speakers, speaker design and development, and various general electroacoustic measurements.
Its rich graphical user interface provides many features that greatly enhance operational convenience and system functionality.
The system also includes a calibrated measurement microphone that works with the software. Accurate SPL measurements can be performed with just a mouse click.
Unlike FFT-type analyzers, LMS provides logical operation results for frequency data points while maintaining the ability to capture signals for quasi-silent SPL measurements. Since LMS directly measures frequency response without the need for complex FFT conversions, it uses very little CPU.
All hardware functions of LMS can be controlled and modified through the analyzer parameter dialog box. Analyzer control parameters can also be saved as preset files on disk for future recall and immediate reset of all control panel parameters. Users can save and retrieve any number of original settings for test measurements. Frequency sweeps can be performed from 10Hz to 100KHz, with measurements taken at 2 to 800 data points.
All graphics are designed on a drawing board in a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) manner. The screen display matches the print output. Users have full control over various design elements of the graphics, including fonts, colors, and line types. The system also provides customizable graphic files for entering project names, personnel, and company names. These graphic layouts include annotation areas and caution areas. High-resolution full-color printing is supported using any standard Windows printer driver.
The LMS system can generate a TTL pulse, which can be used to control the switching of external test equipment or to directly perform polar coordinate scans using a stepper motor-driven turntable. For production testing applications, LMS software can be controlled by user-written macros. The LMS macro programming language can be used to write operator screen prompts, control test scans, run software tools, control graphic printing, output data, and perform pass/fail tests.
