Features of Samson SAMSON Positioner:
(1) The Samson positioner is used for critical regulation systems with high requirements for regulation quality, to enhance the positioning accuracy and reliability of control valves.
(2) Suitable for applications with a large pressure difference at both ends of the gate (Δp > 1 MPa). By increasing the air supply pressure, the output force of the actuator is boosted to overcome the unbalanced force exerted by the fluid on the valve core,
reducing travel error.
(3) When the medium being regulated is high-temperature, high-pressure, low-temperature, toxic, flammable, or explosive, the packing is compressed tightly to prevent external leakage, resulting in significant friction between the stem and the packing.
In such cases, a positioner can be used to overcome hysteresis.
(4) When regulating fluids or viscous substances, a positioner can alter the resistance to stem movement.
(5) Used for large-diameter (Dg > 100 mm) control valves to increase the output thrust of the actuator.
(6) When the regulator and actuator are 60 m apart, using a positioner improves the response speed of the gate by controlling signal transmission.
(7) Used to improve the flow characteristics of the control valve.
(8) When one regulator controls two actuators for split-range control, two regulators can be used—one connected to a low input signal and the other to a high input signal—or one actuator operates with a low input signal
while the other operates with a high input signal, thus achieving split-range control.
