Overview: A safety valve automatically opens and closes based on the working pressure of a pressure system, typically installed on equipment or pipelines of closed systems to protect system safety. When the pressure inside the equipment or pipeline exceeds the set pressure of the safety valve, it automatically opens to release pressure, ensuring the medium pressure inside the equipment and pipeline remains below the set pressure, protecting normal operation and preventing accidents and losses.

Safety valves are mainly divided into two types: spring type and lever type. The spring type relies on the force of the spring to seal the disc and seat. The lever type uses the force of a lever and weight. With the need for large capacity, there is also a pulse safety valve, also known as a pilot-operated safety valve, consisting of a main safety valve and an auxiliary valve. When the medium pressure in the pipeline exceeds the specified value, the auxiliary valve opens first, allowing the medium to enter the main safety valve via a conduit and open it, thereby reducing the elevated pressure.

The discharge capacity of a safety valve depends on the seat diameter and the disc opening height, which can be further divided into two types: low lift, where the opening height is (1/15) to (1/20) of the seat inner diameter, and full lift, where it is (1/3) to (1/4).

Additionally, depending on usage requirements, safety valves can be enclosed or non-enclosed. Enclosed types discharge the medium without leakage, directing it entirely through a specified outlet, typically used for toxic and corrosive media. Non-enclosed types are generally used for non-toxic or non-corrosive media.
