Brief Introduction to the Process Flow of Nitrogen Generators in the Packaging Industry
Ambient air is compressed and purified to remove oil, water, and dust, then enters a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit consisting of two adsorption towers filled with carbon molecular sieve. The compressed air flows upward through the adsorption towers, during which oxygen molecules are adsorbed on the surface of the carbon molecular sieve, while nitrogen flows out from the top of the towers and enters a crude nitrogen buffer tank. After a period of time, the carbon molecular sieve in the adsorption towers becomes saturated with adsorbed oxygen and requires regeneration. Regeneration is achieved by stopping the adsorption step and reducing the pressure in the adsorption towers. The two adsorption towers alternate between adsorption and regeneration, ensuring a continuous output of nitrogen.
