Plug socket

I. Overview

The design, manufacturing, and testing of plugs and sockets for this low-voltage shore connection system shall comply with the following specifications and standards:

1.1 International Standard IEC 60309-1-2012 "Plugs, socket-outlets and couplers for industrial purposes - Part 1: General requirements"

1.2 China Classification Society "Rules for Classification of Sea-Going Steel Ships" (2021) and its amendments, Part 4

II. Operating Conditions

2.1 Ambient temperature: -25℃ to +55℃.
2.2 Relative humidity: <95%.
2.3 Inclination and rolling: Longitudinal and transverse inclination and rolling ±22.5 degrees.
2.4 Environment with impact and vibration.

III. Basic Technical Requirements

3.1 Rated operating voltage: AC690V.

3.2 Rated operating current: Plugs and sockets available in four specifications: 63A, 125A, 250A, and 350A.
3.3 Basic model, specification, and contact configuration

3.4 Minimum prospective short-circuit current: 16 kA rms/1s.
3.5 Maximum rated peak current: 40 kA.

IV. Safety Performance

4.1 Insulation resistance: Between all phases and between phase and ground, the insulation resistance measured with 500V DC shall not be less than 5 MΩ.
4.2 Grounding: Clear grounding markings.
4.3 Protection level: IP66.

V. Markings

5.1 Nameplate markings include: Rated current (A); Rated operating voltage (V); Model; Protection level; Product number; Manufacturer name; and the wording "Low Voltage Shore Power" shall also be indicated.
5.2 Contact symbols: L1, L2, L3 indicate phase lines; PE indicates grounding; P1, P2, P3, and P4 indicate control contacts; S+, S- indicate communication contacts.

VI. Other Requirements

6.1 Structural form: Straight cylindrical push-pull plugs and sockets.

6.2 Housing made of cast aluminum; plug gland equipped with locking pins; socket equipped with locking slots; socket has a protective flip cover with a locking latch.
6.3 Sealing material: Neoprene rubber; protection level reaches IP66 when the plug is engaged.
6.4 Insulating material: Nylon; insulating components within plugs and sockets of the same specification are interchangeable.
6.5 Contacts made of high-quality silver-plated copper alloy, resistant to high temperatures and with strong conductivity.
6.6 Connection between contacts and wires: Cold-press connection, easy to operate and reliable.

VII. Testing

Conducted in accordance with the "Type Test Outline for Plugs and Sockets of Low-Voltage Shore Connection Systems".
