Overview of the Development Status of Prefabricated Cabin Substations
Prefabricated cabin combined equipment was researched and applied earlier abroad. In the mid-1980s, the United States already applied fully modularized 33kV substations; in the 1990s, Japan also utilized prefabricated equipment cabins in fully modularized 66kV substations. The containerized electrical cabins introduced by ABB have been widely adopted in Middle Eastern countries.
Domestically, 35kV and 10kV box-type substations have been extensively used in engineering projects. Containerized SVG equipment, containerized DC ice-melting equipment, and containerized photovoltaic inverters are also widely applied.
In 2013, the State Grid Corporation of China initiated the demonstration project for the new generation of smart substations, proposing the construction principles of "standardized design, factory processing, modular construction, and mechanized construction." Following these principles, almost no buildings are visible in the new generation of smart substations; instead, prefabricated cabin combined equipment is used.
In the State Grid Corporation's new generation of smart substation demonstration projects, the Chongqing Dashi 220kV substation and the Hubei Future City 110kV substation, both AIS substations, adopted prefabricated cabin combined equipment.
The construction of the new generation of smart substations has accumulated valuable experience in the application of prefabricated cabin combined equipment, actively guiding domestic equipment manufacturers in equipment development and technological innovation. Our company specializes in designing and producing special containers (functional rooms, electrical equipment boxes, water treatment equipment boxes, and other equipment boxes), containerized mobile houses (camp houses, dormitories, office rooms),
standard land transport containers (standard and non-standard containers), expandable containers, and color steel plate houses. We also sell containers, curtain-sided containers, and expandable container accessories. Principles for Selecting Prefabricated Cabin Structures
(1) The exterior design should be aesthetically pleasing and harmonize with the external environment. For example, the container's appearance should be as simple as possible, with reasonable dimensions and placement of components such as air conditioners and ventilation ports. The color of the container should harmonize with the surrounding transformers and high-voltage switchgear.
(2) The dimensions of the cabin container should balance equipment transportation requirements, layout needs, and transportation constraints.
(3) Reduce external wiring for prefabricated cabins and design unified interfaces.
(4) Ensure rational arrangement of panels to maximize space for operation and maintenance access.
(5) Streamline engineering installation and debugging to minimize on-site workload. Equipment installation and wiring inside the prefabricated cabin should be completed in the factory as much as possible, with on-site work limited to connecting the prefabricated cabin to external equipment.
Advantages of Prefabricated Cabins and Combined Prefabricated Cabins Over Traditional Buildings
◇ High Reliability
Utilizes the world's most advanced technology for key components, ensuring safety and reliability. The prefabricated cabin structure is completely maintenance-free, combined with micro-positive pressure air conditioning, constant temperature and humidity, and a dust-free environment, surpassing indoor operating conditions.
◇ Small Footprint
Minimum equipment footprint of 340m², with the entire station occupying no more than 416m².
◇ Factory-Based
All equipment installation and debugging are completed in the factory.
◇ Fast Construction
Construction cycle of 3~6 months.
◇ Quick Commissioning
Minimal on-site debugging workload, with commissioning completed within 15 to 30 days after equipment arrival.
◇ Low Noise
Utilizes sound barrier technology to reduce transformer noise.
◇ No Radiation
Fully enclosed metal shell reduces electromagnetic radiation.
◇ Long Lifespan
Key components are completely maintenance-free, with the cabin structure resistant to corrosion for 30 years and a service life of 60 years.
◇ Aesthetic Appearance
Integrated cabin-cabinet design concept with modular block structure, harmonizing with urban style.
◇ Six "No's"
No buildings, no walls, no frameworks, no radiation, no noise, and unmanned operation.
◇ Modular
Modular block structure allows flexible layout.
