Features:
Haolang Boiler Anti-Scaling Agent is a compound of alkaline substances and organic materials. It causes calcium and magnesium salts in water to deposit and form sludge, which is discharged through blowdown. Simultaneously, it forms a protective film on metal surfaces to prevent corrosion. With long-term use, it effectively prevents the formation of new scale and facilitates the removal of existing scale.
Usage Method:
First, dissolve the product in water at 40°C–50°C, filter it, and then directly inject it into the boiler (by setting a dosing funnel at the suction section of the boiler feed pump) or add it to a water pool or tank. When using this agent, it must be administered and managed by designated personnel.
Blowdown must be performed 1–2 times daily, with a blowdown rate maintained between 5%–10%. Each blowdown should last 30–60 seconds, and the pH should be controlled between 10–11.
Dosage: Depending on water hardness, the initial dosage is generally 20–50 grams per ton of water. Once the pH in the boiler reaches 10–11, the exact dosage can be determined.
Packaging: Solid: 25 kg woven bag packaging.
Liquid: 25 kg plastic drum packaging. (For high-hardness water)
Precautions:
1. After dosing, regularly inspect to prevent old scale from clogging pipelines. Existing scale should be removed before using the agent. Although the agent is simple and convenient to use, operators must be diligent and responsible.
2. Avoid contact with eyes during use. If accidentally splashed, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
3. During transportation and storage, protect the product from moisture.
Overview:
Operating boilers often develop hard scale, which increases thermal resistance, wastes fuel, reduces boiler output, and in severe cases, can cause explosions leading to shutdowns. Large and medium-sized boilers typically use external water treatment methods to prevent scaling, while small low-pressure boilers often lack such conditions and are better suited for internal water treatment—this is the method of using anti-scaling agents. Anti-scaling agents, also known as water softeners, are added to the boiler to soften water and reduce scaling. This method is convenient, simple, and practical, making it highly popular among users.
Anti-Scaling Principle:
Boiler anti-scaling agents are composed of alkaline substances and organic materials. The alkaline components cause calcium and magnesium salts in the boiler water to form sludge, which is removed through blowdown. This eliminates calcium and magnesium ions, preventing the formation of hard scale. The organic materials in the agent improve the fluidity of the sludge, making it easier to discharge, and also form a protective layer on metal surfaces to inhibit scale formation. This combination of chemical and physical actions effectively prevents scaling.
When added to the boiler water during operation, the anti-scaling agent also reacts chemically with existing scale over time, causing it to detach from the boiler. In this sense, it also serves as a descaling agent. Users, particularly those with boilers severely affected by salt and silicate scale, have reported significant descaling effects.
Dosage:
The dosage of boiler anti-scaling agent should be based on feedwater hardness. Generally, follow these guidelines:
1. For feedwater hardness ≤ 2 milliequivalents per liter, add 40 grams per ton of water.
2. For every additional 2 milliequivalents per liter of feedwater hardness, increase the dosage by 35 grams per ton of water.
3. If feedwater hardness is unknown, slightly increase the dosage based on the above principles.
Usage Method:
There are two methods for adding boiler anti-scaling agent. For boilers with a water tank or pool but no economizer, the agent can be directly added to the tank or pool and delivered to the boiler with the feedwater. Alternatively, use a dosing funnel to add the agent directly into the boiler. Before dosing, dissolve the agent in 80°C hot water and filter it. Intermittent dosing can be adopted, such as once per shift, or a full dose can be added at once.
After dosing, monitor the boiler water to ensure the pH does not exceed 10–12. Perform regular blowdown, maintaining a blowdown rate of 5–10%. Blowdown should be done at least once per shift, each time not exceeding 30–60 seconds.
If the water level does not change after blowdown, check whether detached old scale has clogged the pipelines. If clogging occurs, take prompt action.
Precautions:
1. Internal treatment is simple and easy to master, but operators must be diligent and responsible, conducting regular inspections and tests to achieve the desired results.
2. Before internal water treatment, remove existing scale as much as possible to prevent large amounts of old scale from detaching and clogging pipelines. Rinse once after压火 (damping fire) and shutdown, and monitor water level changes.
3. Conduct regular inspections. After one month of dosing, shut down the boiler for inspection, remove old scale and accumulated sludge, and evaluate the anti-scaling effect. Continue such inspections periodically thereafter.
4. Maintain careful supervision. Regularly monitor changes in water level and quality.
5. Do not use for drinking water temporarily.
Packaging: 20–30 kg carton or three-layer woven bag packaging.
Storage and Transportation: Store in a ventilated, dry place. Suitable for road and rail transport.
Shelf Life: Two years.
