I. Purpose of Vortex Flowmeter
Vortex flow sensors are used to measure the flow of liquids or gases in industrial pipelines across sectors such as petroleum, chemical, power, and light industries. Since the sensor material is 1Cr18Ni9Ti, it can also be used for flow measurement in urban water supply, heating systems, boiler feedwater, and industrial fluid pipelines.
The LUGB vortex flow sensor employs intrinsic safety technology. Battery-powered vortex flow sensors are marked "Ex iaⅡBT4" and are suitable for use in Zone 0, 1, and 2 areas of Class IIB with T1 to T4 groups. Barrier-powered vortex flow sensors are marked "Ex iaⅡT5" and are suitable for Zone 0, 1, and 2 areas of Class IIB with T1 to T5 groups.
For flow measurement in large and medium-sized pipelines, an insertion structure is used. If a ball valve is installed at the insertion point, the sensor can be removed and installed without interrupting the flow, facilitating cleaning and maintenance.

IV. Selection
1 Before selection, first determine the flow value of the measured medium (can be an estimated value), then select the sensor specification according to the flow range specified in Table 2, Table 3, or Table 4.
2 The flow of the measured medium in the pipeline must be within the sensor's flow range; otherwise, it cannot be used. It is best to operate within 1/2 to 2/3 of the sensor's flow range.
3 If the actual pipeline diameter is larger or smaller than the selected instrument diameter, use reducers or expanders to ensure proper instrument use.
4 Select the vortex signal output method based on the vortex sensor's application:

Saturated Steam Measurement System

Steam flow measurement is related to steam density, which varies with steam temperature and pressure. Therefore, in steam flow measurement, it is necessary to reasonably compensate for temperature and pressure to correct density, thereby improving the accuracy of steam flow measurement and reducing errors. Steam is divided into saturated steam and superheated steam. Due to their different properties, steam density differs at the same pressure. Thus, the measurement methods used in steam flow measurement also differ. Appropriate measurement instruments and compensation methods should be selected based on the properties of the measured steam.

Saturated steam temperature and pressure have a corresponding relationship. Therefore, it is only necessary to monitor either of these two parameters, then refer to the saturated steam density table to find the corresponding density value. Multiplying this by the steam volumetric flow rate allows calculation of the saturated steam mass flow rate.
