High Carbon Alcohol Defoamer

In the process of industrial production, many harmful foams are generated, requiring the addition of defoamers. There are many types of defoamers, including silicone, polyether, silicone and ether grafted, and those containing amines, imines, and amides. They feature faster defoaming speed, longer foam suppression time, and a wider range of applicable media, even in harsh environments such as high temperatures, strong acids, and strong alkalis. They are widely used to eliminate harmful foams in industries such as latex processing, textile sizing, food fermentation, biomedical, coatings, petrochemicals, papermaking, and industrial cleaning.

Principle of Defoamer Action
The principle of defoamer action mainly involves reducing the surface tension of the liquid. That is, the defoamer can spread on the surface of the foaming liquid and displace the liquid in the film layer, thinning the liquid film to the point of mechanical instability, thereby achieving defoaming. Generally, the faster the defoamer spreads on the liquid surface, the quicker the liquid film thins, and the stronger the defoaming effect. Liquids capable of spreading on the surface and acting as defoamers have low surface tension and are easily adsorbed onto the liquid surface. Such substances are mainly surfactants like ethers and alcohols.
