After the initial adjustment is qualified, let it sit for 12 hours. If it does not meet the standard after this period, readjust. If it remains qualified, it can be used. Perform periodic inspections and maintenance based on the actual environmental conditions after use.
Dial indicator measurement methods are divided into the three-point method and the diagonal method based on the evaluation reference plane: The three-point method uses an ideal plane determined by three widely spaced points on the actual measured surface as the evaluation reference. During measurement, first adjust three widely spaced points on the actual measured surface to be level with a standard flat plate. The diagonal method involves adjusting the four corner points of the actual surface to be pairwise level along the diagonals. Then, use a micrometer to measure across the entire actual surface. The maximum variation measured by the micrometer across the actual surface is the flatness error of that surface.
