2. Aqueous Solution Properties: A 1% aqueous solution of tragacanth gum, after full hydration, presents as a smooth, creamy, thick gel without adhesiveness.
3. Excellent Stability: Tragacanth Gum maintains its gelling properties even in low-acid environments (pH < 2). It is suitable for oil-in-water emulsion systems without the need for additional surfactants and has the function of reducing surface tension.
4. Rheological Properties: A 1% aqueous solution of tragacanth gum exhibits pseudoplastic fluid characteristics, making it suitable for pipeline transport systems.
5. Heat Resistance: Temperature has little effect on the viscosity of tragacanth gum solutions. Viscosity decreases when heated but returns to its initial value upon cooling.
6. Hydrophilicity and Stability: Tragacanth Gum has an HLB value of 12, indicating high hydrophilicity, making it suitable for various emulsion systems.

   • Used as a water-soluble gel lubricant base, commonly in contraceptive creams to inhibit sperm motility.
