Petroleum Resin

Uses and Functions:

1. Coatings: Coumarone resin can be mixed with various drying oils to produce paints. When combined with different resins and pigments, it can create coatings in various colors, used for surface coatings on vehicles, ships, and bridges. It significantly improves the gloss, hardness, and water resistance of the paint film while reducing costs.

2. Rubber: Coumarone resin is used as an additive in natural and synthetic rubber. It improves molding operations and enhances the hardness and elasticity of products. Due to its ability to improve rubber strength, this resin is particularly suitable for use as a rubber softener in the production of rubber tubes, V-belts, and tires.

3. Adhesives: Coumarone resin has excellent adhesive properties and serves as a high-quality adhesive in adhesives and pressure-sensitive tapes. It is used in the production of plywood, wallpaper, and leather adhesives, improving the water resistance of adhesives. Because of its low shrinkage rate during solidification, it can also be applied in the foundry industry.

4. Inks: Adding petroleum resin to inks helps with color development, fast drying, and brightening effects, improving printability. Therefore, it can be used to produce various printing inks.
