Taikoo Cement Wear-Resistant Anti-Cracking Filler White Aluminum Oxide Sand 220#
Fused aluminum oxide, also known as white corundum, is used in the coatings industry. Due to its excellent wear resistance, low oil absorption, and high hardness, it is widely used as a filler in coatings. Fused aluminum oxide is produced by melting and crystallizing industrial alumina with 99% purity in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature of 2050°C. Therefore, fused aluminum oxide is also referred to as fused corundum. It has high purity, good self-sharpening, resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, high-temperature resistance, and stable performance at high temperatures. Its hardness is slightly higher than that of brown corundum, with slightly lower toughness but strong cutting ability.
White electro corundum F180, F220, and F240 are suitable for two-component microcement group A filler. It has better wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature resistance than quartz sand. Microcement, also known as Taikoo cement, is a new type of building material that has emerged in recent years. It can achieve seamless integration of the ground, wall, and roof. It is similar to polyurethane water-based flooring. Microcement is a decoration material made by fusing micro cement with resin and adding wear-resistant materials. It has advantages such as good wear resistance, waterproofing, corrosion resistance, and antibacterial properties.
Main Performance Characteristics of Fused Aluminum Oxide:
In coating formulations, in addition to resin binders, fillers are often added to serve purposes such as filling and adjusting the properties of the coating. As a filler material for coatings, it must meet the following basic requirements:
1. High whiteness. It should not affect the color adjustment of the coating binder and pigments.
2. Good dispersibility. Easily dispersible fillers not only reduce the time and cost of dispersing fillers during coating production but also contribute to the performance of the coating.
3. Chemical stability and inertness. The filler should not react with the binder, pigments, or other fillers in the coating.
4. Low oil absorption. Low oil absorption helps increase the critical pigment volume concentration of the coating, saving resin binder. It also matches other low-oil-absorption pigments that are mainstream in the market.
5. Accurate particle size with a narrow and concentrated particle size distribution. Fillers with a narrow particle size distribution can provide spatial separation in the coating, ensuring more uniform distribution of various material particles. This helps maintain the consistency of the coating's performance.
6. Flowability. Good flowability (leveling) prevents sedimentation during storage and facilitates the application of the coating.
7. Appropriate specific surface area. The specific surface area affects the viscosity, flowability, dispersion stability, sedimentation, and oil absorption of the coating.
Fused aluminum oxide is an alumina material formed through high-temperature electric melting and crystallization, also known as fused white corundum micro-powder. Its chemical properties meet the stability characteristics required for fillers. As a filler for water-based coatings, epoxy coatings, polyurethane coatings, fluorocarbon coatings, and fluorocarbon powder coatings, it offers the following advantages:
1. High whiteness
2. Fused aluminum oxide micro-powder undergoes hydraulic overflow classification, resulting in good flowability and dispersibility.
3. Strong chemical stability, with no chemical reactions with acids, alkalis, or other substances.
4. Low oil absorption, tested by our company's customers to be within 10%.
5. The water-based process produces fused aluminum oxide with a concentrated particle size range, effectively controlling large particles to ensure uniformity.
6. High refractory temperature and strong thermal stability.
7. Neutral pH value.
8. High hardness and strong wear resistance of fused aluminum oxide micro-powder, enhancing the wear resistance of coatings.
9. Our factory produces fused aluminum oxide micro-powder with a complete range of particle sizes, from 63 microns to 0.5 microns.
