【1】Working PrincipleThe filter element uses a high-strength wedge-shaped screen, with automatic cleaning of the filter element controlled by differential pressure and timing. When impurities accumulate on the surface of the filter element, causing the inlet-outlet differential pressure to increase to the set value, or when the timer reaches the preset time, the electric control box sends a signal to drive the backwashing mechanism. When the backwashing suction port aligns with the filter element inlet, the drain valve opens. At this time, the system depressurizes and drains, creating a negative pressure zone inside the suction cup and the filter element where the relative pressure is lower than the water pressure outside the filter element. This forces some clean circulating water to flow from the outside to the inside of the filter element, carrying the impurity particles adsorbed on the inner wall into the suction tray and out through the drain valve. The specially designed screen creates a jet effect inside the filter element, washing away any impurities from the smooth inner wall.

1. Inlet and outlet diameter:
In principle, the inlet and outlet diameter of the filter should not be smaller than that of the connected pump, and generally matches the diameter of the inlet pipeline.
2. Nominal pressure:
Determine the pressure rating of the filter based on the maximum pressure that may occur in the filtration pipeline.
3. Selection of mesh number:
Mainly consider the size of impurity particles, determined according to the medium process requirements. The particle size for various specifications of wire mesh can be found in the "Screen Specifications" table below.
4. Filter material:
The material of the filter is generally the same as that of the connected process pipeline. For different service conditions, filters made of cast iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel, or stainless steel may be considered.
5. Calculation of filter resistance loss
For water filters, under normal rated flow velocity, the pressure loss is 0.52 to 1.2 kPa.
Filter
During operation, the water to be filtered enters through the inlet, flows through the screen, and exits through the outlet into the required pipeline for process circulation. Particles and impurities in the water are trapped inside the screen. As circulation continues, more and more particles are trapped, slowing down the filtration rate. Meanwhile, incoming wastewater continues to enter, causing the filter pores to become smaller and smaller, resulting in a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet. When this difference reaches the set value, the differential pressure transmitter sends an electrical signal to the controller, which then starts the drive motor. The drive motor rotates the shaft via transmission components, and the drain port opens to discharge impurities. After the screen is cleaned, the pressure difference drops to a low value, and the system returns to the initial filtration state, operating normally.
