Additional Information
The PNI Magnetic Sensor Kit RM2100 consists of 2 Sen-XY-f (pn13104) geomagnetic sensors and a MagI2C (pn13156) control chip, enabling magnetic field measurement within a fixed plane. Geomagnetic sensors are used to measure the Earth's magnetic field, thereby providing directional reference. However, a significant challenge often faced is the temporary impact of variable magnetic fields on orientation judgment, such as metals in homes, passing vehicles, nearby mobile phones, and computers. To compensate and calibrate for these magnetic anomalies, geomagnetic sensors must accurately distinguish between noise and variable values.
Based on PNI's patented magnetic sensing technology, the geomagnetic sensors deliver high resolution and repeatable performance with extremely low noise. The sensors also feature high gain, high sampling rate, and no hysteresis, requiring no temperature calibration or set/reset pulse current before each measurement. The figure below compares Hall sensors and PNI magnetic sensors with ideal sensor measurements. The sensor is fixed and rotated in a magnetic field of 2.4μT, recording measurements at different orientations.
