Many areas are prone to dampness due to poor ventilation, leading to the phenomenon of products getting moldy. Once mold appears on items such as shoes, bags, leather goods, furniture, and leather sofa surfaces, it tends to spread rapidly and extensively, potentially causing harm to human health. Many manufacturers produce numerous products without taking preemptive anti-mold measures, leaving them aside where they develop mold on their own. For example, genuine leather and PU shoes:

1. Use a sponge or soft cloth dipped in leather care cream to wipe off mold and mildew stains. 

2. For stubborn mildew stains that cannot be removed, use color restoration cream or rejuvenating cream to restore the original color and shine. 

3. If the coating on PU shoes is damaged or peeling, and color restoration cream cannot fix it, perform leather repair. 

Note:

When using leather care products, test them on an inconspicuous area first to ensure no issues before full application. Leather repair is a specialized task; improper handling may ruin the shoes.

Why does mold develop?

1. Shoes were not cleaned after wear, accumulating dirt or foot secretions, making them more susceptible to mold. 

2. Damp storage environments absorb moisture from the air, providing conditions for mold growth.

3. Prolonged storage without maintenance and lack of ventilation contribute to mold formation. 

How to prevent mold

1. Clean shoes thoroughly before storing them for long periods, preferably placing them in shoe boxes or storage containers. 

2. Use shoe desiccants or bamboo charcoal packs inside the shoes during storage to control humidity levels. 

3. Place anti-mold sheets or anti-mold cards in the storage environment to inhibit mold growth. 

4. After cleaning, treat shoes with anti-mold agents or anti-mold creams before storage to prevent mold development.
