【Product Use】
High Voltage Tracking Resistance Tester consists of a control section and a high-voltage test section. This instrument applies a power frequency voltage of (1000~6000) V between two electrodes on the surface of the sample. At different voltage levels, a NH4CL test solution—with deionized wetting agent and a resistivity of (395±5) Ω·cm—is dripped onto the sample surface at a 45° angle with a forward tilt, at flow rates of 0.075, 0.15, 0.30, 0.60, or 0.90 ml/min. When the test liquid bridges the sample surface between the upper and lower electrodes, the Joule heat generated by the current causes local drying on the sample surface, forming a dry zone. This dry zone creates a potential gradient on the sample surface, leading to localized micro-glow discharge—spark discharge. The spark discharge causes local thermal decomposition on the sample surface, generating carbonized paths until they extend between the two electrodes, resulting in tracking failure.
High Voltage Tracking Resistance Tester is suitable for testing the tracking resistance and erosion of electrical and electronic products, household appliances, and their materials. It simulates the effects of liquid contaminants and inclined samples under DC or power frequency (48Hz - 62Hz) conditions, evaluating the tracking and erosion resistance levels of electrical insulating materials used in harsh environmental conditions.

【Product Structure】
1. The equipment is divided into a control section and a high-voltage test section, forming an integrated structure.
1) Control section:
Contains the electrical control system to regulate high voltage adjustment and measurement, test start/stop, test termination judgment, data display, etc.
2) High-voltage test section:
Consists of a test transformer, protection resistor, contaminant dripping system, and electrode system.
3) All electrodes, fastening devices, and assembly parts connected to the electrodes, such as screws, washers, nuts, and mechanical components, are made of 304 stainless steel for corrosion and rust resistance.
【Product Parameters】
When the high-voltage circuit current reaches or exceeds 60mA for 2 seconds during the test, the relay activates, cutting off the current, and the buzzer alarms to indicate that the sample fails. Pressing the stop button can then silence the alarm.
Filter paper size: Made according to standard size requirements, with a thickness of 0.15–0.17mm.
Dripping device: The dripping device height is adjustable, the contaminant flow rate is adjustable from 0.075 to 0.9 mL/min, and the test time is presettable.
Contaminant liquid: A mixture of NH4CL, iso-octylphenoxy polyethoxyethanol, non-ionic wetting agent, and distilled or deionized water. The resistivity of the contaminant liquid should be (3.95 ± 0.05) Ω·m at (23 ± 1)°C.
Electrodes: The upper and lower electrodes are 0.5mm thick, made of 304 stainless steel, and manufactured according to standard size requirements. The distance between the upper and lower electrodes is 50 ± 0.5mm.
Test workpieces: 1 or 5 optional (prices vary).
Dimensions of the tracking and erosion resistance tester: approximately 800mm wide × 600mm deep × 1750mm high, with an exhaust vent diameter of Φ100mm.
Design standards: GB/T 6553-2014 "Test Method for Evaluation of Resistance to Tracking and Erosion of Electrical Insulating Materials Used Under Severe Environmental Conditions", IEC60587-1984.
