【Product Use】

Gypsum Board Fire Stability Tester is an instrument developed to meet the technical specifications and requirements stipulated in GB/T9775-2008 (ISO6308:1980) "Gypsum Board" and BSEN520-2004+A1-2009(2010) Gypsum Board. Definitions, Requirements, and Test Methods. It is used to determine the fire stability of refractory gypsum boards and is also applicable to the determination of the fire performance of other building materials, decoration, and finishing materials.

Gypsum Board Fire Stability Tester complies with Method A: The specimen is drilled and conditioned under specified environmental conditions. The specimen is suspended between two flame nozzles using a support rod, with the flame nozzles perpendicular to the specimen surface. Liquefied petroleum gas is used as the heat source to supply gas to the two burners of the fire stability tester, with the burner flame nozzles positioned 30mm from the board surface. According to the standard, a load is suspended from the lower end of the specimen, and the burners are ignited. A thermocouple is used to measure the temperature 5mm from the board surface. During the initial stage of the test, charred surface paper falling on the thermocouple should be removed without causing the specimen to shake. Through adjustment, the temperature is controlled to (800±30)°C within 3 minutes, and this temperature is maintained throughout the test. The time is recorded from the moment the specimen is exposed to fire until it breaks and fails. The burning time of each specimen is recorded, and the minimum value among five specimens is taken as the fire stability of the group, accurate to 1 minute.

Complies with Method B: Cut six specimens (300±5) mm long and (45±1) mm wide, with the long side of the specimen parallel to the edge of the board (two specimens per board). Place one specimen in the support device, ensuring the short side is vertical. The distance between the bottom of the weight and the platform should be (10±1) mm. The lower long edge of the specimen should align with the lowest point of the burner nozzle (see Figure A below). Apply the weight to the unsupported end of the specimen. The point of weight application should be (260±1) mm from the limit of the mounting device. Ignite the burner and adjust the gas flow so that the temperature at each thermocouple reaches (1000±50)°C. When the weight falls onto the platform or after 15 minutes (can be set), check the cohesion of the specimen. Repeat this process for each specimen. If any specimen breaks (into two or more pieces), the board is considered to have failed.
