Fire Door Dimensions
Since the implementation of the new version of the fire door product type approval implementation rules and product standards, a fire door quality certification system, with product consistency maintenance as the key means of quality control, has been basically formed and effectively implemented. The overall quality of fire door products in China has significantly improved. However, there is currently a trend of applying for certifications for various types of oversized fire door products (referring to double-leaf fire doors with opening dimensions exceeding 2123 and single-leaf fire door products with opening dimensions exceeding 1023) to meet market demand.
Practice has shown that the requirements for such products in terms of design, structure, key raw materials, and production processes are far higher than those for commonly sized fire door products. Moreover, during production, issues such as poor repeatability of fire resistance and unstable quality are highly likely to occur. However, due to irregularities in product inspection and factory quality assurance capability verification, some products with quality defects have obtained certifications.
To strictly implement the quality management and supervision requirements for fire protection products and ensure the quality of fire door products, after consultation, our center has decided to carry out a re-confirmation of the validity of certifications for oversized fire doors in the near future.
The relevant requirements are hereby notified as follows:
1. All holders of type approval certificates for oversized fire door products must immediately conduct self-inspections on the consistency and quality of the sold and installed fire door products, comparing them with the production and sales flow reports. For issues identified during self-inspections, immediate rectification must be undertaken, and a report on the self-inspection and rectification must be submitted to the Second Business Department of our center via the online fire product certification business system by December 31, 2013.
2. Effective immediately, our center will initiate the re-confirmation and certification renewal process for oversized fire door certificates. Certificate holders may apply for the renewal of certifications for newly added product models (double-leaf fire door dimensions must not exceed 2123, single-leaf fire door dimensions must not exceed 1023) based on the original issuance inspection report. For details on the certification renewal application guidelines, please refer to Appendix 1. Requirements for the confirmation of newly added product models can be found on the websites of the National Fixed Fire Extinguishing System and Fire Resistance Component Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the National Fire Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.
Fire Door Prices
Fire doors are important fire isolation facilities in high-rise buildings. National fire protection departments have clear regulations on the standards and installation of fire doors. Fire doors must be manufactured in accordance with specifications, filled with fire-resistant materials inside the door leaf, and embedded with sealing strips made of non-combustible materials in the grooves. The surface of fire doors should be polished smooth.
