I. Overview

The rail waist width measuring instrument is a device independently developed by our company for measuring the waist width of rails. The product features the following characteristics:

1. Utilizes neodymium iron boron strong magnets for positioning, ensuring accurate positioning and high measurement repeatability;

2. Digital display, simple and convenient to use; accurate and reliable measurements;

l Measurement Position

1) Standard 60 rail

The measurement position is the waist width at 79mm from the base of the rail, with a standard value of 16.5mm.

2) 60 rail for high-speed railways

The measurement position is the waist width at 79mm from the base of the rail, with a standard value of 16.5mm.

3) 50 rail

The measurement position is the waist width at 68.5mm from the base of the rail, with a standard value of 15.5mm.

4) 43 rail

The measurement position is the waist width at 62.5mm from the base of the rail, with a standard value of 14.5mm.

5) 75 rail

The measurement position is the waist width at 80.4mm from the base of the rail, with a standard value of 20mm.

III. Usage Method

1. Remove the measuring instrument from the box, bring the measuring ends of the two measuring scales tightly together, and press the zero reset buttons on both digital display scales respectively; after zeroing the scales, pull both scales to the far end;

2. On-track placement: Position the locating block close to the outer side (non-acting edge) rail jaw of the rail to be measured, then rotate and place it on the rail head. Gently push the measuring instrument so that the two working surfaces of the locating block closely fit against the non-working side and the rail jaw surface of the rail.

3. Measurement: After the instrument is properly positioned, push both scales toward the rail waist so that the measuring ends of the scales are tightly against the rail waist;

4. Reading and calculation: Read the measurement data from both scales separately, and add the absolute values of the two measurements to obtain the measured waist width value;

5. Off-track removal: After reading, calculating, and recording, pull both measuring scales to the far end, then rotate the instrument off the track in the opposite direction of on-track placement. Do not pull or drag to avoid damaging the measuring scales of the instrument.
