Silver carbonate

Properties: Appears as a light yellow powder when freshly precipitated; color darkens upon drying under light. Decomposes into silver oxide and carbon dioxide at approximately 220°C, and into metallic silver at higher temperatures. Soluble in 2000 parts of boiling water, readily soluble in dilute nitric acid, acetic acid, ammonia water, and cyanide alkali solutions; insoluble in cold water and ethanol. Relative density 6.08. Melting point 210°C (decomposition). Irritating.
Storage: Store sealed and protected from light.
Uses: Analytical reagent. Electroplating.
