Color steel silica rock purification board is a new method based on altering the polymer matrix structure to enhance foam performance. What draws attention is the interpenetrating network (IPN) technology, which is a type of polymer alloy formed by the interpenetration and entanglement of two or more polymer networks, with the networks connected by covalent bonds.
I. Performance
1. Heat Resistance: Silica rock color steel board can withstand high temperatures of 250-300°C for extended periods and resist 400-500°C during fires. The polymer in silica rock color steel board is stable and is a highly stable variety.
2. Flame Retardancy: It has excellent flame retardancy, heat resistance, and does not produce polluting gases. This is because amine free radicals act as good absorbers; during high-temperature decomposition, the free radicals generated by broken methylene bridges are quickly absorbed by amine free radicals, preventing the reaction from continuing. This phenomenon makes modified polyimide extremely difficult to burn.
3. Low Smoke: Silica rock color steel board contains only hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen atoms. During high-temperature decomposition, it only produces carbon and oxygen-based products, with no other polluting gases except for a small amount of CO. The smoke emission of modified PIIPN is 5%, while that of polyurethane is 74%. In comparison, the smoke emission of modified PIIPN is quite low.
4. Flame Penetration Resistance: Under direct flame exposure, silica rock color steel board exhibits carbonization, no dripping, no curling, and no melting. After flame combustion, the foam largely remains, with only a surface layer of graphite foam, effectively protecting the inner foam structure. Its flame penetration resistance is strong.
5. Thermal Insulation: Silica rock color steel board has a uniform and fine closed-cell structure. When mixed with polystyrene particles, its thermal conductivity is only 0.022-0.040 W/(m·K), and its insulation performance is comparable to that of polyurethane and extruded polystyrene.
6. Wide Range of Applications: The strength of silica rock color steel board is not significantly affected by temperature. It does not shrink or become brittle at low temperatures of -196°C. Its mechanical properties remain largely unchanged. It can be used long-term within the range of -196°C to 130°C.
II. Advantages of Silica Rock Color Steel Board
1. Excellent Thermal Insulation and Energy Efficiency
Class A polystyrene board retains the advantages of traditional EPS foam board, such as low thermal conductivity and high heat storage capacity, offering better insulation performance than inorganic active insulation mortar, foam glass, and other materials on the market.
2. Fire Resistance—Class A Flame-Retardant Material
Silica rock color steel board overcomes the flammability of traditional EPS foam boards. It meets the Class A fire safety standard for insulation materials.
3. Higher strength than rock wool and phenolic boards, non-absorbent, non-shedding, and easy to install.
4. System Performance
Silica rock color steel board has a closed, foamed spherical molecular structure, is relatively lightweight, and offers good dimensional stability. The system has undergone weathering tests, including 80 high-temperature–water spray cycles and 30 heating–freezing cycles, without blistering, hollowing, or peeling of the surface layer. No water seepage cracks occurred, with impact resistance reaching 10J for tiles and 10J for coatings, demonstrating excellent performance.
5. Mature Process
The construction process for silica rock color steel board is the same as that for traditional EPS board thin plaster exterior wall insulation systems. The construction process is mature, making it easy for workers to install, without the instability issues found in other new material systems.
6. Cost-Effectiveness
Class A polystyrene board retains the advantages of traditional EPS foam boards, such as "low thermal conductivity, excellent insulation performance, and mature process," while being low-cost and priced lower than similar Class A flame-retardant insulation materials on the market. It achieves Class A flame retardancy at the price of ordinary materials, offering broad market prospects.
