1, Introduction to China's Toy Safety Standard GB6675

Currently, China's toy safety standard is GB6675 (National Toy Safety Technical Specification), promulgated in 2003, which is a national mandatory standard. Technically, it is equivalent to ISO8124-1:2000 (Toy Safety—Mechanical and Physical Properties), ISO8124-2:1994 (Toy Safety—Flammability), and ISO8124-3:1997 (Toy Safety—Migration of Certain Elements).

The GB6675 standard applies to all toys, meaning all products or materials designed or intended for use by children under 14 years of age. Unless otherwise specified, the new standard applies not only to any toys sold on the market (including trial and free promotional toys) and toys produced for domestic sales but also to toys under normal use and foreseeable reasonable abuse.

ISO8124-2:1994 (Toy Safety—Flammability) and ISO8124-3:1997 (Toy Safety—Migration of Certain Elements) are largely equivalent to EN71-2 (Toy Safety—Flammability) and EN71-3 (Toy Safety—Migration of Certain Elements). In terms of "mechanical and physical properties," China's toy standards are quite similar to those of the European Union. For specific details, please refer to the EN71 section.
