1. Introduction to Industrial Water
Industrial water primarily refers to the water used by various departments of industrial and mining enterprises during the industrial production process (or period), including water for manufacturing, processing, cooling, air conditioning, washing, boilers, as well as water for the daily living needs of employees within the factory.
2. Testing Scope
(1) Production water testing: Water directly used in industrial production is referred to as production water. Manufacturing water includes indirect cooling water, process water, and boiler water.
(2) Indirect cooling water testing: In the industrial production process, to ensure production equipment operates at normal temperatures, cooling water used to absorb or transfer excess heat from production equipment (separated by heat exchanger walls or equipment) is termed indirect cooling water.
(3) Process water testing: Water used in industrial production for manufacturing and processing products, as well as water related to the manufacturing process, is called process water. Process water includes product water, washing water, direct cooling water, and other water.
(4) Product water testing: In the production process, the portion of water required as a raw material for manufacturing products is called product water (this water either becomes part of the product or participates in chemical reactions).
(5) Washing water testing: Water used for washing raw materials and semi-finished products during the production process is referred to as washing water.
(6) Direct cooling water testing: In the production process, cooling water that comes into direct contact with products or semi-finished products (including direct spray water for temperature and humidity adjustment) to meet process requirements is called direct cooling water.

(8) Boiler water testing: Water required for generating steam for processes or heating/power generation, as well as water for boiler water treatment, is collectively referred to as boiler water. Boiler water supply includes boiler feedwater and boiler water treatment water.
(9) Boiler feedwater testing: Water directly used to generate steam for industrial use is called boiler feedwater. Boiler feedwater consists of two parts: condensate obtained from steam cooling and supplemental softened water.
(10) Boiler water treatment water testing: Water used for regenerating softened water prepared for boilers, such as for rinsing and other items, is termed boiler water treatment water.
