1. Certification Introduction
The CB Scheme is a global mutual recognition system established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IECEE). Under this system, certification bodies of IECEE member countries test the safety performance of electrical products based on IEC standards. The CB test reports and certificates are mutually recognized by IECEE member countries, aiming to reduce international trade barriers caused by differing national certification or approval criteria. However, it is a non-mandatory performance test certification. A CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL) is a laboratory accepted under the CB Scheme, operating under the responsibility of a specific National Certification Body (NCB). It tests one or more product categories and issues CB test reports. More than 50 countries worldwide participate in this mutual recognition system. After obtaining a CB certificate from one of these bodies, companies can more easily convert it into certifications from other bodies, thereby gaining access to relevant national markets.
2. CB Member Countries
The CB certification system is a global mutual recognition scheme, with over 50 member countries worldwide, including all major export destinations for Chinese mechanical and electrical products.
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, etc.
3. Certification Scope
The CB Scheme covers products within the scope of IEC standards recognized by the IECEE system. According to the rules of the CB Scheme, a CB test certificate is only valid when provided together with a CB test report.
Currently, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is not included in the CB Scheme unless specifically required by the applicable IEC standard. Examples include: power adapters, speakers, headphones, and other audio-visual and information technology products; air purifiers, rice cookers, and other household appliances; LED control devices, LED desk lamps, and other lighting equipment.
