1. Certification Introduction

GS certification is a voluntary certification based on the German Product Safety Act (GPGS), tested according to the unified European standard EN or German industrial standard DIN. It is a recognized German safety certification mark in the European market.

GS certification is the only legally regulated safety certification in Europe besides CE, and it is highly recognized in the German market. German consumers have more confidence in products with this certification when making purchases.

Although GS is a German standard, it is recognized by the vast majority of European countries. Moreover, meeting GS certification also means the product complies with the requirements of the European Community's CE mark. Unlike CE, the GS certification mark is not legally mandatory. However, as safety awareness is deeply ingrained among ordinary consumers, an electrical appliance with a GS certification mark may have greater competitiveness in the market compared to general products.

2. Product Scope

(1) Household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen utensils, etc.

(6) Industrial machinery, experimental measuring equipment.

(7) Other safety-related products such as bicycles, helmets, ladders, furniture, etc.

3. Certification Process

(1) Prepare the application form and product technical documents (German manual, schematic diagram, PCB layout, component specifications, CDF list, etc.)

(2) Safety laboratory testing (can be converted from CB) + PAH testing

(3) Factory inspection after report review is completed

(4) Certificate issuance after factory inspection is completed

5. GS Certification Factory Inspection

GS certification requires safety-related procedural checks of the production site, followed by annual factory audits.
