NaClO

The chemical formula is NaClO (common notation) or NaOCl (electronic notation), which is a common and widely used hypochlorite, easily soluble in water^[1]. Due to its strong oxidizing properties in acidic environments, it is commonly used in the production of bleaching agents or disinfectants in cleaning products (the main component of 84 disinfectant is hypochlorite), and can also be applied in fields such as wastewater treatment (purification), sterilization, and dyeing and weaving.

This product is unstable and prone to decomposition when exposed to light or heat, so it mostly exists in solution form in daily life and industrial production^[2]. Although it is theoretically possible to obtain it in solid form, it is generally more common in laboratories. Currently, the production methods for hypochlorite include the electrolysis method and the caustic soda chlorination method.
