3. Materials adhere to the drive drum, increasing friction, which can damage the belt surface rubber and the drum's rubber coating.

4. Failure to remove materials promptly creates a spillage area throughout the work channel, causing environmental pollution, increasing cleaning labor, affecting employee health, and raising company costs.

Therefore, to ensure the normal operation of the belt conveyor, adhered materials must be thoroughly cleaned. A well-functioning cleaning device can extend the lifespan of idlers, conveyor belts, and other components.
