Specific surface area above 450m2/g, it is a highly active, renewable substance with a porous structure and high thermal stability. It has strong adsorption capacity for both liquid and gaseous substances. Slightly softer than glass. Insoluble in other chemical solvents except hydrofluoric acid and strong alkalis.
