Our independently developed flame retardant is a synergistic flame retardant, which is completely different from zinc borate, hydrotalcite, and other types of synergists available on the market. Its main component is tin silicate, which works together with halogen-based flame retardants to extinguish flames in the gaseous state. Its second function is to accelerate carbon formation in the solid state. These two compounds are true oxide mixtures, with silicon and tin atoms distributed within the crystal lattice. This chemical distribution enables tin silicate to exhibit fire-resistant properties. Currently, the synergistic flame retardant is primarily used to replace antimony trioxide, which is mined nationally. This material is environmentally friendly and can also reduce the production costs of customer products. It has already been applied in flame-retardant modifications of PP, ABS, HIPS, PVC wires and cables, PBT, PA, and more.
Characteristics of the synergistic flame retardant:
1. High whiteness (greater than 98%) and high-temperature resistance (TGA 1% weight loss temperature above 600°C). Suitable for materials such as PA, PBT, PET, PP, ABS, HIPS, and PE, ensuring that the final products do not discolor and exhibit good thermal stability.
2. This product can replace 50% of antimony trioxide in equal amounts and is more affordable, thereby helping customers reduce production costs.
3. After replacing 50% of antimony trioxide, the resulting product shows comparable tensile strength and flexural strength to modifications using only antimony trioxide, while improving elongation at break and impact strength. Additionally, it provides flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and anti-dripping effects in flame-retardant materials, making it an ideal synergistic flame retardant.
Recommended dosage:
In halogen-based flame retardant systems for ABS, PBT, PET, PA, PS, PP, and PE, add an amount equivalent to replacing 50% of antimony trioxide.
