LC-TS5 Molten Iron Composition Analyzer

I. Application Principle

The LC-TS5 Molten Iron Composition Analyzer is a new-generation molten iron management instrument produced by our company, featuring stable performance and high measurement accuracy. It captures a large amount of thermal effect information during the solidification of molten iron in real-time, quickly, and accurately by analyzing the cooling curve of the molten iron's microstructure in the sample cup over time. Through a series of complex data processing, it rapidly and accurately determines the carbon content, silicon content, carbon equivalent, tensile strength, initial crystallization temperature, and eutectic temperature of the molten iron.

Unlike spectrochemical analysis, thermal analysis measures the process of cast iron microstructure formation, which is the comprehensive result of the influence of all elements in the molten iron on the formation of the cast iron structure. It detects the effective equivalent content in the molten iron.

Accurately measuring each element concentrated in the molten iron, determining the specific content of each element, and understanding the direction and extent of each element's influence on the formation of the cast iron structure are tasks that cannot be completed within the time available for molten iron treatment in front of the furnace. Even if possible, adjusting the content of each element to the specified range is impractical.

Thermal analysis, however, can directly measure the comprehensive effect of different contents of all elements on the formation of the cast iron structure and directly adjust the comprehensive result to achieve the desired cast iron microstructure. This is the advantage of thermal analysis compared to other detection methods and the reason for its widespread adoption in foundries in developed countries.

The detection time of the LC-TS5 Molten Iron Composition Analyzer is approximately 2 minutes, completing the analysis within the time available for molten iron treatment. Based on the automatically calculated amounts of carburizer, ferrosilicon, and scrap steel to be added, the composition of the molten iron is adjusted. After obtaining the suitable molten iron composition, casting can proceed.

II. Features

1. Fully designed for industrial environments, desktop structure, stable and reliable performance, easy to operate.

2. Target material selection (FC, FCD): Up to 10 commonly used materials can be set.

3. Used for rapid determination of carbon equivalent CE%, carbon content C%, silicon content Si%, and estimated tensile strength (FC) of raw molten iron in front of the furnace.

4. Wide measurement range: C%: 2.8%-4.2%, Si%: 0.9%-3.0%, CE%: 3.2%-4.83%.

5. High measurement accuracy and good stability. Accuracy of C% within 0.05%, accuracy of Si% within 0.1%.

6. Fast measurement speed, measurement time not exceeding 3 minutes, facilitating composition adjustment in front of the furnace.

7. Carbon and silicon value compensation correction: Compensation for silicon and carbon values can be adjusted based on data from chemical analysis or spectrochemical analyzers.

8. Cooling curve and measurement data CE, C%, Si%, TL, TE displayed simultaneously, clear and intuitive.

9. When the measured value is outside the upper or lower limit of the target value, flashing arrows will appear as a reminder.

10. Based on the measured composition content, set molten iron weight, target composition, and material retention rate, the insufficient material amount is automatically calculated, facilitating rapid adjustment of carburizer, ferrosilicon, and scrap steel additions in front of the furnace to bring C% and Si% within the target range.

11. Up to ten calibration curves can be set simultaneously to adapt to different application scenarios.

12. Rich input/output and communication functions, capable of communicating with computers.

13. Automatic printing option: Compatible with any printer for quick printing of curves and measurement data.

III. Main Technical Parameters

1. Carbon content C% detection: Measurement range 2.8~4.2%, measurement accuracy ≤±0.05%

2. Silicon content Si% detection: Measurement range 0.9~3.0%, measurement accuracy ≤±0.1%

3. Carbon equivalent CE% detection: Measurement range 3.2~4.8%, measurement accuracy ≤±0.1%

4. Intuitively displays the cooling curve on the screen.

5. Any number of formulas can be set for use in calibration curves.
