PBTCA

PBTCA (2-Phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid) is a new generation phosphonocarboxylic acid invented in the 1980s. It is a relatively advanced low-phosphorus corrosion and scale inhibitor, now widely used in industrial production.

Chemical Properties

PBTCA contains both phosphonate and carboxylate functional groups, which give it excellent scale inhibition and corrosion resistance properties.

It can combine with calcium, magnesium, and other ions in water to form stable water-soluble complexes, thereby effectively preventing the formation of scale.

PBTCA also exhibits good high-temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, and chlorine stability, as well as excellent dispersing properties for high-turbidity and high-iron circulating water.
