Tetrachloroethylene, also known as perchloroethylene, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2Cl4, appearing as a colorless liquid.
On October 27, 2017, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) listed tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene) in Group 2A carcinogens based on preliminary references.[3] On July 23, 2019, tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene) was included in the List of Toxic and Hazardous Water Pollutants (First Batch).
