24.5 Low-Temperature Impact Test

Subject the specimen to an impact test using the test apparatus shown in Figure 27.

Place the test apparatus, along with the specimen, on a 40 mm thick sponge rubber block and place them in a freezer at a temperature of (-15 ± 2)°C for at least 16 hours.

At the end of this period, place each specimen in its normal use position as shown in Figure 27, and drop the hammer from a height of 100 mm. The mass of the hammer is (1000 ± 2) g.

After the test, the specimen should show no damage within the meaning of this document.
