Its scientific name is Artemisia dracunculus L., transliterated as Taligen, with aliases including Fragrant Artemisia, Pepper Artemisia, Narrow-leaved Artemisia, Dragon Artemisia, Mugwort, Little Dragon, Dragon Mugwort, Dragon Artemisia Grass, Linear-leaved Wormwood, Snake Artemisia, and Yin Chen Artemisia, among others. It belongs to the Asteraceae (Compositae) family, Artemisia genus, and is a perennial clumping aromatic herb.
