Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus robusta Smith), also known as the eucalyptus tree, is a general term for plants in the Myrtaceae family and the genus Eucalyptus. It is an evergreen tall tree with over 600 species. Evergreen plants, they exhibit periodic leaf shedding throughout the year. Most species are tall trees, a few are small trees, and very few are shrub-like. The crown shapes include spire-shaped, multi-branched, and weeping forms. The leaves are simple, entire, leathery, and sometimes coated with a thin layer of wax. Leaves can be categorized into juvenile leaves, intermediate leaves, and mature leaves. The leaves of most species are opposite, small, and broadly lanceolate.
