Sage oil

Sage (scientific name: Salvia japonica Thunb.) is an annual herbaceous plant in the Lamiaceae family, genus Salvia. The stem is erect, with a plant height of 30-100 cm, and the plant grows in a clumping form, covered with soft hairs. The stem is quadrangular and slightly woody at the base. The leaves are opposite, elongated oval in shape, with prominent green veins. The fibrous roots are dense. The terminal raceme can reach up to 15 cm or more in length; the bracts are small, blue-purple, and envelop the flower buds before blooming. The flower stalks are densely covered with blue-purple soft hairs. The calyx is bell-shaped, blue-purple, with glandular hairs along the veins on the outer surface. The flowering period is from June to September.
