Open-Path Infrared Combustible Gas DetectorSafEye Quasar 900 is an open detection system that provides continuous monitoring of combustible gases. It utilizes the "spectral fingerprint" technology supported by Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) for continuous atmospheric composition monitoring.

The Quasar 900 consists of an infrared emitter with a xenon flash lamp and an infrared receiver. The instrument can detect scenes within a line of sight ranging from 23 feet (7 meters) to 650 feet (200 meters) even in extremely harsh environments. Harsh conditions include haze, fog, rain, snow, or vibrations that may cause significant signal attenuation.

A handheld communication device can be connected via an intrinsically safe data port for predictive and diagnostic maintenance on-site.

The Quasar 900 is approved by FM/FMC for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, G. It is ATEX/IECEx certified with an explosion-proof rating of Ex d e [ia] ia IIB + H2 T4 Gb, Ex tb IIIC T135°C Db IP66.
