Other Products
I. Name: Cross-linked Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose
II. Use: Cross-linked sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is used as a disintegrant in oral preparations such as tablets, capsules, and granules. It functions through capillary action and swelling to achieve disintegration. This product is characterized by good compressibility and strong disintegration power. The swelling capacity in water of cross-linked sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is greater than that of low-substituted sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, which in turn is greater than that of common disintegrants like hydrated microcrystalline cellulose. Whether added internally or externally, the friability of tablets is not affected, and the disintegration time and release effects of tablets made with it do not change over time. When used as a disintegrant, the dosage can be up to 5.0% (W/W), but it is typically 2.0% (W/W) in direct compression processes and 3.0% in wet granulation processes.
