An appropriate amount of anti-static additive is added to the material to reduce its resistivity, forming a mist-like film on the material surface to meet relevant anti-static standards. It belongs to volume-conductive electrostatic dissipative materials and electrostatic sub-conductive materials.

Static electricity: A charge in a relatively stationary state. Static electricity is generated by physical processes such as contact and separation of materials, electrostatic induction, dielectric polarization, and adhesion of charged particles.

Triboelectric charging voltage: The surface-to-ground potential difference of an object charged by friction.

Surface resistance: The quotient of the voltage applied between two electrodes on the material surface and the current flowing between the two electrodes within a specified electrification time. Polarization that may form on the electrodes is disregarded.

Volume resistivity: The quotient of the DC electric field strength perpendicular to the surface within the material and the steady-state current density, i.e., the volume resistance per unit volume. Note 1: Volume resistivity is expressed in ohm-meters.

Conductive material: Material with a surface resistance or volume resistance less than 1×106Ω.

Electrostatic dissipative material: Material with a surface resistance or volume resistance greater than or equal to 1×104Ω but less than 1×1011Ω.

Electrostatic conductor: An object with a volume resistivity less than or equal to 1×106Ω·m[i.e., conductivity greater than or equal to 1×10-6  S/m], and a solid surface with a surface resistivity less than or equal to 1×107Ω.

Electrostatic sub-conductor: An object with a volume resistivity greater than 1×106Ω·m and less than 1×1010Ω·m, and a solid surface with a surface resistivity greater than 1×107Ω and less than 1×1011Ω.

Electrostatic non-conductor: An object with a volume resistivity greater than or equal to 1×1010Ω·m[i.e., conductivity (2.9) less than or equal to 1×10-10  S/m] and a solid surface with a surface resistivity (4.3) greater than or equal to 1×1011Ω.

Anti-static agent: A substance added to or applied on the surface of an object to increase its conductivity, preventing the accumulation of hazardous static electricity without affecting other properties of the object.
