Installation Method for ICAD900-1200-027H9122 Electric Valve Actuator

The ICAD 600/900/1200 actuator series is specifically designed for use with the ICM series of electric valves. By adjusting analog signals or digital on/off control signals, the ICAD actuator is equipped with an advanced Human-Machine Interface (MMI) that continuously displays the valve opening degree, providing customers with a more advanced and convenient setup process to meet various application requirements.

◈ Seven-segment LCD display with three programming buttons, allowing direct reading of valve opening degree on the display

◈ Easy setup of different application modes (such as changing actuator speed, on/off, power-off protection, and valve adjustment methods)

◈ Full open to full close time: Ranging from 3 to 45 seconds depending on valve specifications

◈ The actuator allows continuous adjustment or on/off control

Electrical Installation

Standard procedure for installing the ICAD 600/900/1200 actuator on the ICM electric valve: After all electrical connections are completed, the ICM electric valve operates via analog or digital signals. Figure 6

■ Analog operation—7-core cable (A-G) for control adjustment. The ICM electric valve is controlled by Danfoss electronic products, such as the EKC347 level controller (Figure 7), or third-party controllers (e.g., PLC)

– Connect analog input signals, current (mA) or voltage (V). Refer to the parameter list to configure analog input signals

– Yellow (+) and orange (GND) for current input (mA)

– Green (+) and orange (GND) for voltage (V) input

– Blue (+) and orange (GND) for current output (mA) (optional)

■ Digital operation—7-core cable (A-G)

Control the ICM solenoid valve on/off, i.e., control the ICM main valve via a digital voltage dry contact.

– Connect digital input signals (Figure 8). Refer to the parameter list to configure digital input signals

– Connect green (+) and orange (GND) digital signals to the voltage dry contact Digital output signals are optional.

– Connect black (–) and orange (GND) digital signals to the auxiliary relay for normal alarm

– Connect brown (–) and orange (GND) digital signals to the auxiliary relay to indicate the ICM electric valve is fully open

– Connect red (–) and orange (GND) digital signals to the auxiliary relay to indicate the ICM electric valve is fully closed

■ Supply voltage—3-core cable (ⅠⅡⅢ)

The ICAD actuator

must be connected to a 24V DC power supply. As an option, power-off protection can be achieved via a battery or UPS (uninterruptible power supply). If the voltage conditions are as described below, the ICAD actuator requires additional configuration. Refer to the parameter list. ICAD actuator parameters are configured independently, regardless of whether it is installed on an ICM electric valve. See mechanical installation.

– Connect white (+) and brown (–) digital signals to the 24V DC power supply (Figure 6) Power-off protection supply is optional (not mandatory).

– Connect black (+) and brown (–) digital signals to the power-off protection supply.

Mechanical Installation

Standard procedure for installing the ICAD 600/900/1200 actuator on the ICM electric valve:

■ Check that the three screws are fully loosened clockwise using a 2.5mm hex key

■ Slowly install the ICAD actuator onto the ICM electric valve

■ Magnetic coupling will pull the ICM electric valve and ICAD actuator together

■ Push the ICAD actuator into the correct position

■ Use a 2.5mm hex key to tighten the three screws to secure the ICM electric valve and ICAD actuator
