The DS99 is a device that utilizes the Doppler effect to measure a vessel's speed and distance traveled relative to the water layer. It features a seven-inch LCD display showing longitudinal speed (bow-stern direction), current voyage, and total mileage.

Factors Affecting Accuracy
The DS99 measures vessel speed by detecting changes in the frequency of echoes from the seabed, with a water depth measurement range of approximately 2m. However, at certain distances, measurement data may be unobtainable due to insufficient plankton. This situation can occur in specific seasons and specific water areas. Possible reasons include extensive ice melt covering the ocean surface, causing plankton to reside in deeper waters; similar situations can also occur in clear water. Under these conditions, the DS99 cannot accurately measure vessel speed.

The performance of the DS99 depends on the correct operation of the system and the usage environment. Its accuracy may be affected by the following environmental factors:
Adverse weather conditions (generally sea state > level 6)
Incorrect transducer installation (e.g., too close to the propeller, drain pipes, or echo sounder transducer)
Water depth under the keel < 3 meters, water temperature, salinity (speed of sound in water)
Roll > 10°

1. Complies with IMO MSC.334(90) resolution. Holds a Type Approval Certificate issued by CCS.
2. Dual-beam wave system effectively reduces log error. The transducer contains two symmetrical sensors that emit two sound beams, one forward and one backward. The system automatically averages the data from the two Doppler signals to obtain more accurate measurements.
3. Speed and distance information are displayed on a high-brightness, high-contrast 5.7-inch color LCD screen.
4. Data can be output to radar, electronic charts, AIS systems, VDR, and other equipment.
5. Fully complies with international maritime safety and transportation requirements.
