The oil-gas separator is a critical component in rotary air compressors. Its performance directly affects the compressor's effective power, oil consumption, and the stability, cleanliness, and dryness of the output airflow. A high-quality oil separator, when correctly installed and used, not only ensures high-quality compressed air but also achieves a considerable service life.

The oil-gas separator uses corrosion-resistant, highly efficient ultra-fine fiber coalescing material as the main filter element. The filter bed of this system consists of a pre-filtration layer, an ultra-fine fiber layer, a support layer, a filtration layer, and a gravity settling layer. This design ensures that solid particles larger than 3μm in the compressor output air are completely filtered out, while extremely tiny oil-water gas dissolved particles (approximately 0.01-1μm) are coalesced into larger oil droplets. These droplets accumulate at the bottom of the filter element and are siphoned back into the lubrication system through the oil return pipe located at the bottom recess, resulting in purer, oil-free compressed air output.

Precautions
1. During the use of the oil-gas separator, the normal pressure difference for a newly installed separator is between 0.17-0.3 bar. A pressure difference exceeding 0.3 bar is abnormal.
2. If the pressure difference exceeds 0.8 bar during use, it is abnormal. In such cases, the air compressor system should be inspected to ensure the air filter can filter out 95% of impurities sized 5-6μm and 99.8% of impurities sized 7-10μm. Otherwise, the oil-gas separator core may prematurely exhibit a pressure difference exceeding 0.8 bar.
If the pressure difference of the oil-gas separator core exceeds 1 bar during use, the core must be replaced.

1. When the pressure difference reaches a certain level, the oil-gas separator filter core must be replaced. During installation or replacement, ensure all conditions are correct. This includes properly rotating the seal (with anti-static measures), draining residual oil from the oil return management, and ensuring the oil return pipe is long enough to reach the bottom end cap.
2. When installing or replacing the filter core of a screw air compressor, it is crucial to maintain the cleanliness of the lubricating oil in the separation tank and the dry side of the oil separator filter core. Contamination on the surface of the filter core separation layer can increase oil carryover, reduce efficiency, and cause impurities on the dry side to clog the oil return pipe, leading to oil carryover in the air.
